New Rides and Insider Tips for Your Trip!

By Karyn Martin and Kaiya Griffing-Dunn, Publisher, Macaroni KID Nashua June 16, 2025

There’s something magical about Story Land. Maybe it's the water slide shaped like a cow, the laughter, or the fact that your kids will actually forget about screens for a few hours. If you’re planning a trip this season, here’s what’s new, what’s awesome, and how to make the most of your day.

Moo Lagoon Is Here – And It’s Udderly Amazing

We headed straight to the park’s newest attraction: Moo Lagoon, and it did not disappoint. Think:

  • Kid-friendly water slides
  • Colorful sprayers and fountains
  • Playful animal details (sunflowers, sunglasses, and a very chill pig)
  • Plenty of space for parents to sit back and relax
  • Accessible for all ages

MacKID Tip: Bring water shoes and a change of clothes – your kids will be soaked and smiling.

๐ŸŒŸ Top 5 Highlights From Our Day

1. Antique Cars
Nothing beats driving around like you’re in a storybook. This classic ride was a big hit.

2. Huff Puff & Whistle Train

Our ride was a peaceful, happy break (bonus: shaded seats and great views).

3. Moo Cow Milking Station

Yes, it moos. Yes, your kid will want to try it. Yes, it’s funny every time.

4. Daniel Tiger’s Grr-ific Day!

This show was sweet, engaging, and a chance to sit and relax – highly recommended if your kids are fans.

5. Dutch Shoes

This ride and its surroundings are very aesthetically pleasing. A calm moment we didn’t expect to love so much.

Insider Tips for 2025

๐Ÿงณ Security screening is required for all bags, coolers, strollers, and wagons. Pack light to breeze through the entrance.

๐ŸŽ’ Bag & cooler policy: One personal bag (15" x 15" x 15") and one soft cooler (12" x 12" x 12") per guest. No glass, no alcohol, and no hard-sided coolers.

๐Ÿ’ง Drinks: Sealed non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. You can also bring an empty bottle to fill at water stations inside.

๐Ÿ’ณ Cashless park: Cards and mobile payments only. Don’t worry – there are free cash-to-card kiosks throughout the park.

๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ Parking: General parking is free but fills quickly. Preferred parking is $10 or free for Gold/Platinum passholders. Use the safety tunnel to cross Route 16.

๐Ÿ›บ Mobility rentals (strollers, wheelchairs, ECVs) are available first-come, first-served. No reservations, so arrive early if needed.

๐ŸŽญ Sensory-sensitive guests can visit the Calming Room near Old Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard – a quiet space to reset.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ Rain policy: Rain checks are only issued if a storm lasts over 30 minutes during your visit. Rides may close for lightning or heavy rain.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ Weather watch: Moo Lagoon and Splash Battle do not operate if temps fall below 60°F.

๐Ÿ”ช Leave the pocket knives at home. No weapons or sharp items allowed.

What to Eat ๐Ÿด
You can pack a lunch, but part of the fun is letting someone else do the cooking — especially when there are kid-approved options around every corner! Here are a few of our favorites:

  • The Pixie Kitchen: A quick, kid-friendly lunch stop with sandwiches, fries, and shaded seating. It's fast, easy, and perfectly located when hunger strikes mid-park.
  • Flying Carpet Sandwich Oasis: Looking for something a little less fried and a little more fresh? This spot has wraps, salads, and satisfying sandwiches – great for parents and picky eaters alike.
  • Dutch Village Ice Cream Shop: Tucked near Dutch Shoes, this charming stand serves up old-school ice cream treats and is the perfect post-ride bribe.
  • Dippin’ Dots: No explanation needed – it's iconic. Even more magical when you’re slightly soggy from Moo Lagoon.
  • Slush Factory: The name says it all. On hot days or during mid-afternoon meltdowns, a cold, neon-colored slushie hits the spot.
๐Ÿ’ก MacKID Tip: Bringing your own snacks or lunch? Grab a shaded picnic table at the World Pavilion Kitchen and enjoy a relaxing break while the train rolls by.
